Joe Girardi manager of the Yankees will not be returning in the 2018 season. Girardi just completed the final season of a four-year, $16 million contract. Sources told ESPN's Buster Olney that Yankees general manager Brian Cashman recommended to owner Hal Steinbrenner that the team change managers. In an email to local media outlets, Girardi said: "With a heavy heart, I come to you because the Yankees have decided not to bring me back." He went on to thank the Steinbrenner family and Cashman.

Rumor has it that the have been using apple watches to steal the New York Yankees signs and to keep there lead in the AL East which at the moment is 3.5 games (keep up with that in the MLB section of the site). For decades, spying on another team has been as much a part of baseball’s gamesmanship as brushback pitches and hard slides. The Boston Red Sox have apparently added a modern — and illicit — twist: They used an Apple Watch to gain an advantage against the Yankees and other teams. Photo Credit New York Times
